How do I password protect files on Windows Server ?
Posted by Barry Tarbet on 26 August 2006 06:21 AM
Windows NT and Microsoft Internet Information Server does not support common password protection schemes used by UNIX servers. In order to password protect a web page on our NT servers, you will have to use an ASP or CGI application.

You can get an ASP application for FREE at http://www.asplogin.com.
We also have it in our download library you to download.

You will need to read the documentation that comes with it and configure it to work on your web site. It also uses an ODBC database to store user names and passwords. Occ Hosting supports MS Access, MS Excel, MS FoxPro, and dBase ODBC databases.
